Superintendent’s Message
BUSD Community,
As the 2023-2024 school year sunsets, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to each one of you for your unwavering support and active participation in various District programs. Your volunteer work, advocacy, and financial contributions have been instrumental in our success. Our strong partnership, built on your support, has contributed to a successful school year filled with achievements, growth opportunities, and promise for a successful future.
BUSD volunteers and supporters are the glue that holds our school community together. Whether through sweat equity or fundraising, your support has allowed us to provide an outstanding program level. Thank you for chaperoning field trips, supporting classroom projects, fundraising through PTG and booster activities, the Measure C efforts, and volunteering during extracurricular activities such as athletics and the fine arts. Your involvement has significantly impacted our students’ lives; we are truly grateful!
To our dedicated BUSD Staff, you are the backbone of our success. Your extraordinary commitment to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students has not gone unnoticed. The extra hours you’ve spent developing lessons, grading papers, and researching strategies to improve student outcomes have contributed to learning and growth. We are deeply grateful for your invaluable contribution to our school community. Your work ethic and character are commendable and paramount in successful student outcomes. Each of you plays a crucial role, and we appreciate you and your contributions.
BUSD students, you are the reason why we are here. You have once again exceeded expectations, and we are filled with great excitement and pride as we cheer you on in your journey to the next grade level or chapter in your lives. Your competitive spirit was on display as we watched our Speech and Debate team excel at historical levels, our athletic teams win section championships and advance to the championships, and our Career Technical Education program and our fine and visual arts showcase their brilliance throughout the year. Your diligent work and incremental gains toward continual improvement make us most proud.
On behalf of the Benicia Unified School District, students, staff, and community supporters, we wish you a summer filled with fun and relaxation. You have certainly earned it. We will see you in August as we launch another outstanding school year, and we are confident that, with your continued support, we will achieve even greater heights. Your contributions, whether big or small, have a profound impact on our school community and students; for that, we are truly grateful.
Respectfully,
Damon J. Wright, Ed.D.
